Election Time! Rough Guide to electioneering.

ROUGH GUIDE TO ELECTIONEERING:

When you have an election, there's a lot of stress. But what people don't see is how it is actually fought behind the scenes.


Here's a quick summary:


1) you identify where the voters are eg you go and knock on the door and ask "will you vote for us?"















2) you send them literature about what you would do if you were elected

















3) you contact them on the actual day of the election when they are due to vote to make sure as many as possible do

















4) you send people called "tellers" to the polling stations who collect information about who has voted. By doing this, you can then deduce who hasn't voted and contact them to ask them to vote. This is called "knocking up the voter"
















5) as the day wears on, hopefully the number of people who have not voted becomes very small, which means you have successfully "Got Your Vote Out". If you have, then your opposition, at the end of the night, will look something like this:
